Professor Randy Pausch died last Friday, July 25th, 2008 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 47.
Nearly a year ago, I watched the video of his lecture entitled "The Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams." It is an amazing and inspirational lecture to say the least. He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and, expecting only 2-5 months to live, he gave this lecture with a very cheerful and lighthearted attitude.
I remember feeling like a huge dork watching this hour long lecture from start to finish, but I'm glad I did and I consider it to be an important experience in my life.
Midwest Jam July 19-20, 2008
A little over a week ago, I was in Madison Wisconsin where some very nice members of the MadParkour crew hosted the Midwest Parkour Jam. With over 40 people in attendance, the event was a huge success and a ton of fun. In fact the first day was so much fun that, on the second day most of us could hardly walk, but we pushed through that pain and it was well worth it.
Since I failed at Blogging this event in a timely manner, there is already a video featuring the event:

Parkour @ College Park
Yesterday I met up with a few traceurs down at the University of Maryland College Park. It was a pretty chill jam. We practiced some basic movements as well as a few advanced ones. Then we ended the jam with Noodles And Company followed by Coldstone.
Also, I'd like to give a shout out to Iris. Its her Birthday!

Rafting is Phun!!
I haven't posted in quite a while. I've just been so busy. There are a few things I would like to post, but I will just post one thing today and post the others later.
That way all my amazing readers wont have to deal with a HUGE-FLOOD-OF-PHUN. Is there is a way to change the dates on these posts to accurately reflect the day of each activity?
Speaking of a huge flood of phun, I went white water rafting!

A lot of people were falling out...frequently. I think they did it on purpose. I jumped out one time. Actually, I did a handstand on the raft and dropped in. I might have a picture of that someday...

Learning to Juggle!
That's right. I'm going to learn to juggle. At the Chicago Colossal Parkour Jam I noticed that a good number of our nation's best traceurs can juggle. Then a fellow by the name of Happydud showed me the technique and I intend to master this juggling thing.
I started with golf balls. Golf balls suck...
Then I tried tennis balls. Tennis balls are better. I was able to get 37 consecutive throws with 3 tennis balls.

Parkour. Lonely, But Safe.
I haven't been doing much Parkour lately. I would like to get some friends together and just jump on stuff, but there are few people who would be interested in joining me. Generally they would prefer to play soccer or basketball.
But I did some Parkour the other day! When my basketball playing friends got their ball stuck on the roof of a school, they called me up to save the day. So, I went, got their ball, and threw it down to them. But I didn't come down.
Apparently, I will choose Parkour by myself over sports with friends. Its mostly due to a fear of getting injured which sounds stupid, but its true. Parkour is safe to me.

Happy Birthday America
OMG! Its the Fourth Of July! A good day to do something awesome?
I was planning to go to Williamsburg today and visit friends, have a nerdy LAN Party, and go to the beach. But that didnt work out. Instead, I stayed home all day, alone. Mother went to a family Fourth of July Gettogether and Father is in Hawaii with the little ones. Why didnt I go with one of them? Because I had awesome plans...
Anyway, today sucked for me, but my fingers are crossed for happy times in the future.
